How to delete my Best Buy account?

If you want to delete your account on Bestbuy.com, an e-commerce website that strives to obtain the best price and service, you came to the right place. Because all it takes to remove your profile, is a simple removal request to their Support team.

 1  Go to bestbuy.com and login to your account

 2  Scroll down to the footer and select: Support & services

 3  Scroll down to the bottom again and you will find a button: E-mail us

 4  Fill in the form. You’ll need to enter:

 

 

  • Your name
  • Valid phone number
  • Email
  • Best-buy ID
  • Contacting about an order: No > Need help with: Bestbuy.com account
  • Detailed summary: Dear Best Buy support, I want to delete my best buy account because I’m not planning to use it anymore. Can you please remove my account? Thanks in advance for keeping me posted about this request. Kind regards, (your name)

The same day I received an answer for the Best Buy customer care team. In this reply, they confirmed that they had begun the process of cancelling the account which would take 3-4 weeks to complete and once completed, the account, including all the purchases and any other relevant information would become completely inaccessible.

=> Mission accomplished because in 3-4 weeks your account will be gone.

Please be aware that bestbuy will delete the online account and the information associated with the online, but bestbuy still retains your personal information in bestbuy database, so any phone number, mailing address, and email address associated with your past purchases will still be accessible in bestbuy database. I deleted my account and found out that my information was still in the system, thru my phone number. Threfore, if you attempt to do a purchase with bestbuy even if you don’t have an online account, but they ask for your number, than they can still get all your personal information pulled up. I was frustrated by this process because, a deletion of your account should remove all personal information from bestbuy system since bestbuy doesn’t own your personal information and I thought it was illegal for a company to continue to hold your information after you requested deletion of your information but, apparently bestbuy will keep all information for 10 years in the bestbuy internal servers. So if your hoping an account deletion will completely wipe your information, than your wrong.
